Loris disappointed after rain halts first Jerez WorldSBK test of 2021

Loris Cresson will have to wait a little bit longer for his first on-track appearance of 2021 after the recent two-day World Superbike test at the Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto in Southern Spain was cancelled due to rain and wet conditions.

Whilst obviously wanting to ride, the OUTDO TPR Team Pedercini took the decision to not allow the #84 rider to take the track, conscious of the fact that they are limited on the number of days per rider this season.

Loris is optimistic about being back on track in early March, if not before. Further test schedule details will be issued in due course.

Loris Cresson:
“I don’t really have any words. We waited all day on both days for the track to dry but it never happened. The rain came, the sun came, the rain came again. The track never got close to being useful in terms of what we needed to test and achieve so in the end I never got to ride. Some riders without the testing restrictions in other categories made some laps but their pace was far from the optimum times they would normally do. Now I need to wait a little bit longer to ride again, probably in Portugal in early March. Maybe I can take a Superstock bike to a circuit soon to at least make some laps and not affect my official test days, but we will have to see. It was great to see Lucio, David and everyone in the team again, I am just disappointed I spent two days in the pit box and in the hotel gym, but it was the same for everyone who was there to test!”
