160 laps completed, Loris Cresson makes huge Superbike strides in Spain

Loris Cresson completed more than 160 laps of the Jerez circuit during the two-day Jerez Test that ended a short time ago. Back on track after his impressive WorldSBK debut at the Estoril Circuit last month, Cresson’s opening day was cut short following a crash with two hours of the first day remaining.

One of the first on track today, the #84 Team Pedercini rider improved his lap time on his very first lap, a trait that would continue throughout the day. Loris ended Day 2 of the test 1.7s faster than he ended Day 1, as he continues to adapt to the more powerful Superbike machine.

Loris Cresson:
“The first day of the test wasn’t so bad, even with the crash. We made good progress and I spent most of the day on old tyres as I still have so much to learn. Unfortunately, I crashed with two hours of the opening day still to go which was not part of the plan, but these things happen. We made big improvements on the second day. I now understand many things which is important as we move forward. I made so many laps over the two days, making 100 today alone. I am happy with how things went. We tried so many new things, including new front forks. Of course, I am a racer, so you always want to be faster, but this was a test to help me improve and we were not focusing on the position or the overall lap. Towards the end of the day when I was ready to put what I had learned into practice my body was finished but we still made another little step which is pleasing. I am really enjoying being with the team and fingers crossed I will be able to ride with them again next week at MotorLand Aragon.”
